Precise Eye Profiles and Optimal Eyeglass Lens Determinations

The eye is one of the most complex systems in the human body. The numerous elements within this system come together to build a whole where even the smallest imperfection of the lens leads to distortion. Objective refraction reaches a new standard of clarity achieved from innovative wavefront technology that precisely and objectively measures the vision profile of patients – including highly dilated pupils to simulate night and twilight conditions.

The optical instruments deployed by Brooks Eye Center are designed to thoroughly examine patients while providing them with a comfortable and technology-driven results experience. The collected data provides patients with a more accurate prescription that is as individual as their eyes, and profoundly different in terms of visual performance.

comprehensive visual assessments

Powerful visual assessment technologies are used to analyze the retina, optic disc, and the cornea. Brooks Eye Center measures the thickness of the retina, nerve fiber layer, ganglion cell complex and the cornea while tracking changes and predicting trends in RNFL and GCC thickness, and precisely measuring angles to aid in disease diagnosis. Brooks Eye Center uses a quick but comprehensive scan for an in-depth look at the health of your retina and ganglion cell complex with a robust normative comparison, to identify signs of disease before they may be noticeable on clinical exam.

painless tonometry
without anesthesia
or puff of air

Brooks Eye Center has added an Icare® ic100 tonometer to its practice. The ic100 is based on a rebound measuring principle that requires no drops or puff of air.

The ic100 tonometer uses patented rebound technology to measure intraocular pressure by making a momentary and painless contact with the cornea.

Icare's proprietary algorithm coupled with state-of-the-art software brings measuring intraocular pressure to a higher level by evaluating deceleration, contact time and other motion parameters of the probe when it touches the cornea.
